i wanna clean my lcd tv screen with a solution?
i have a lcd laptop cleaning kit for the screen and it comes with a little solution that gets rid of dust and finger prints on the laptop , i want to know if i can use the same sollution (little bottle with drops in it) to clean my lcd tv screen , it says it cleans laptops safe and all that but im not sure if its the same for televisions , the manual for the tv says no chemicals and i dont think the cleaning solution i have has chemicals becuase it says enviromentaly safe ,and its anti static so thats gotta be good right ??? the stuff is called 'memorex opticlean cleaning solution' i could realy use some advice from some one who knows a lot about television and such thank you for your anwsers ...
Most of those cleaning solutions are just an alcohol dissolved in water. They really shouldn't use much else frankly. You could check online or look more on the bottle and see if it specifically says what its made of.
The key is the less liquid you use the better. And you want to apply the liquid to the cloth, never the LCD surface. Then just give the LCD a wipe down.
Usually though those liquids come in a spray bottle not a drop bottle. That way you can put a very light mist on the cloth, and not saturate it at all. So its mainly just dry cloth you use to clean the TV, with a hint of the liquid to help some stubborn areas. The drop bottle to me would saturate the cloth too much, and not let you give a nice even mist across the whole thing. That's the only thing from what you said that worries me a bit. Otherwise it ought to be fine.
You could always just go to a TV store and ask them. I'm sure there has been more than one person to have used the wrong kind of cleaner on the TV. TV store folk hear those stories all the time and so might be able to assist you better (as they'll have more experience in cases gone wrong).
