How unhealthy is it to let a tooth just rot out of your head?

I fully understand that this is incredibly stupid to do. I have a huge fear of the dentist and the hole in my tooth continues to grow and grow. I don't have any health insurance and would really rather not go to a free clinic. Any suggestions or info to scare me into going to the dentist?

Ugh. That's gross. Rotting tooth is disgusting; this infects the enamel of the tooth a lot.
