Tracfone Prepaid Mobile Phone And Cards

By Prepaid Guys On October 7, 2009 Under Cheap Prepaid Cell Phones

What's a good pre-pay phone service..?

I've tried TracFone and Virgin Mobile. Service was fine but minutes were outrageous and limited selection of phones. Can you take a pre-pay sim card and put it into a non-prepay phone? Who has the cheapest minutes?

I'm not sure about the sim card thing because I haven't had a phone with a sim card in along time. But...I have also tried Virgin Mobile, Tracfone, and also T-Mobile. I'm now with INpulse (which is Verizon's prepaid service), and they now have four different prepaid plans. The original INpulse (I have that one), INpulse Core, INpulse Plus, and INpulse Power. Let me break it down for you...

The original - You get unlimited night minutes (from 9:01pm to 5:59am), unlimited IN calling to anyone that has Verizon at any time of day, 10 cents a minute if you're talking to someone before 9:01pm and if they don't have Verizon. 10 cents to send and recieve texts. Verizon also takes out 99 cents once a night even if you don't use your phone for calls.

Core - Unlimited IN Calling and all other calls are $0.10 per minute and text messages are 10 cents, but you don't get the unlimited night minutes with this plan. They also take 99 cents out of your account, but ONLY on days you TALK on the phone.

Plus - Unlimited IN calling, unlimited night minutes, only 5 cents a minute for other calls and only 5 cents for texts. And for that, they take $1.99 out of your account ONLY on days you use your phone and that doesn't count for texts, Just like the Core plan.

Power - Unlimited IN calling and unlimited night minutes, only 2 cents a minute for other calls and only 2 cents for texts. They take $2.99 out of your account, but again...only on days you use your phone and it doesn't count for the texts.

You can buy all different amounts of cards for the phone. I usually just buy a $15 card every two weeks, because I really only talk on the phone after 9pm and most of my friends have Verizon anyway, so all they're doing is taking out that 99 cents a night. You can also buy any Verizon phone and have it become prepaid and if you ever decide to switch to post-paid, just call them up and they'll do it. That's the joy of CDMA technology, no sim cards, so you can switch back and forth all you want with Verizon.

Another thing, if you were to go with one of those Verizon prepaid plans, make sure you active your phone over the telephone, that way they'll waive the $35 activation fee, because customer service doesn't work for commission like people at the Verizon store. AND after you activate your phone, be sure to register your account on verizonwireless.com, they'll give you $10 free credit on your phone that way and it's always good to have it so you can look at all your call details online.

I love Verizon because it seems to work anywhere you go without dropped calls or no service at all. Plus, their customer service is very friendly and helpful.
