Ifi have one wireless adapter can i use a system link to get two Xbox 360's online?

Sorry i havent found the answer online and this upcoming weekend my friend and i are going to system link our Xbox's. I was wondering if i only need 1 wireless adapter to get both xbox's into the internet b/c my friend doesnt have a wireless adapter and the router is about 100 feet awayfrom the nearest television.

To connect the adapter to your Xbox 360 console, follow these steps:
1. Connect the tabs on the adapter to the two slots on the back of your console near the Ethernet port and the audio-visual (AV) port.

3. Flip up the antenna.
